“We thoroughly recommend Penny Ashby and Impeccable Behaviour. As well as being a qualified veterinary nurse, Penny holds major qualifications in canine and feline behaviour. She is empathic and intelligent, with vast experience as well as study of animal behaviour, a super behaviourist as well as a kind and caring human being. Penny understands Pippa – she’s been shoulder to shoulder with us showing such patience and understanding  - and we continue to see such positive results. And it’s been lots of fun, lots of commitment but worth everything.”

“Our male basset was unpredictable in the house and reactive to dogs and people outside. Penny was our last hope. We had training sessions with Penny with phone/WhatsApp help in between.  We have always kept in contact with Penny, with updates and any queries we may have. Penny is more than a trainer, she is a friend and “Aunty Penny” - we really couldn’t rate her high enough.”

“We cannot recommend Penny highly enough. Our Rottie Fred is a loveable, friendly boy, but out of the blue became reactive to other entire males and his recall failed. We wanted to avoid castration but had lost confidence and were walking in areas that meant we could avoid meeting people. Penny was recommended by our vet. We were sceptical at first - could we really teach our 2 year old new tricks, after all we'd never stopped working hard to teach him good manners? But after speaking to Penny we decided to give it a go and couldn't be happier with the results. Penny's teachings are bespoke and the programme changed as she observed Fred and what he responded to best. And it's not just that, we've learned how to read Fred's body language (who knew there was a left and right wag?) and the body language of other dogs. Penny was in constant contact throughout the programme - this was definitely not just a once a week session, it became the highlight of the week to receive her feedback on our filming and info for the handbook, with our focus for the coming week. We were truly disappointed when we realised we had completed our 8 week programme, but it has to be said that the journey did not end there - Penny continued to support as we applied our learnings in real life situations, and we know if we need her again that we can pick up where we left off. All in all, thoroughly recommend..”

“Rafiki came to us when he was 8 weeks old. At first he seemed confident and outgoing but after a few months he became reactive and fearful. We were referred to Penny and it was the best decision we ever made. Penny came up with a plan and was there supporting us throughout the whole process. Rafiki is like a different dog now. He is happy confident and loving life again. All thanks to Penny and a lot of hard work and many training hours. We will be forever grateful. ”

“Penny was recommended to me by our vet, after Bailey was having issues with some other  dogs.  It turned out he had a few issues and I learned how to read his behaviour, for example I did not realise, and had not previously noticed, that he when he yawns or licks his lips, he is actually feeling anxious.  She devised a bespoke programme for our eight weeks and was in regular contact with tips, weekly programme updates and videos.  Penny is approachable and very friendly and Bailey took to her immediately.  I would highly recommend her.”

“Thank you Penny.”

"Penny has been fantastic with our young lab; we desperately needed her to help us as first-time puppy owners. Benji is a young lab with so much energy/strength and needed some help during his walks. We also had some issues with his behaviour indoors. Our trusted vet recommended Penny to us. Her guidance and advice have been a dream come true. Her training methods are second to none. Penny always breaks things into smaller steps so that you and your pup can follow things easily. She always made corrections by reviewing our videos. Penny takes notes during sessions and sends you helpful feedback and material to study and practice for the following sessions. We had many questions for her every day, and she always took her time to listen and explain things thoroughly. We saw changes in Benji's behaviour within weeks of her training, and we are so grateful for her dedication and passion. As far as we know, Penny is one of the best-qualified trainers for behaviour and training. I highly recommend her services, and Benji and our family wish her all the best for the future; we already miss having her around for the sessions.

We have owned Springer Spaniels for 40 years so were not new to dog ownership but when we took on our latest dog we found we had a challenge on our hands.

He came to us at nine months old and within a short space in time we realised that he had not had any normal puppy socialisation and was becoming increasingly fearful of anyone outside of our household. We had tried a couple of different behavioural approaches and were tearing our hair out when our vet suggest that we contacted Impeccable Behaviour for help.

We were immediately impressed by the methodical way Penny approached our problem and that she really considered our, and our dog’s, needs rather than the one size fits all approach of other trainers. Her explanations made sense of how our dog reacted to people, even at a distance on a walk let alone coming into our home.

Since our course ended we have continued to live by ‘Penny’s Rules’ and life is no longer the struggle that it was. We still have to tread carefully and are working on having visitors – every new person is a new challenge for him – but to be able to go on a walk without being concerned that he will bark or lunge at every passer-by is indeed a joy. In fact, he is so attuned to his training he will immediately drop into a sit as soon as he spots someone and then demand his treat once they have gone!

There is definitely light at the end of the tunnel and we are very grateful to Penny for her advice and strategies.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Penny for her invaluable help in addressing some of the specific challenges we have faced with our very anxious toy poodle.

It is hard to describe how incredibly grateful we are for all of the help and guidance that she has given us over the last few weeks. She helped us through a challenging time and we truly do not know how we would have got through them without her support.

We have found Penny to be incredibly knowledgeable and committed; she has really understood the issues we have faced and gave us practical ways in which to address them. The training was tailored to our specific needs and not only did we really enjoy the sessions but we particularly valued the support provided following each of these, with notes to remind us of the points covered, short film clips demonstrating how to carry out the training step by step and regular contact to ensure that we were progressing as planned.

We have learned so much, have made incredible progress (that we would not have believed would be possible at the start!) and are very grateful additionally for all of her patience, kindness and support. We feel so reassured to know that we could call on her again. We cannot recommend Penny highly enough.

I sought Penny's help after my Ridgeback Rom became too fearful at the vets to do even the most basic examination or treatment. Penny visited and explained her approach, which was to teach Rom to give permission to allow examinations etc. Her techniques worked immediately with Rom, he trained well and after a couple of months training at home he has had much calmer visits to the vet and he had his vaccinations. Penny is very calm with the dog and is amazingly observant on the cues the dog is giving. As usual as an owner, you learn at least as much as your dog does through the training.

“Penny was recommended to us to help train our little unruly scamp to a good dog, with an excellent temperament. He loves going to see Penny and her help and advice has always been excellent”
